About the Future Thinking Partnership
The Future Thinking Partnership (FTP) is a collaboration of 16 different Primary schools from across the borough of Wokingham. Formed in 2010, the partnership is focused on contributing to the raising of local standards of Teaching and Learning across our schools and beyond in order to raise students’ attainment and achievement.
Our partnership of schools aim to do this through the development of good practice, shared CPD and the creation of professional learning communities.
FTP members come from a mixture of academies and state maintained schools and include ten primaries, three infant and three junior schools.
All the FTP schools are situated within an eight-mile radius of the market town of Wokingham, rated as being one of the most desirable areas of the country to live, especially for families.
All our schools offer an outstanding opportunity both for current teachers to develop their careers and for future teachers to learn new skills. As well as a comprehensive NQT programme which we offer to all Wokingham Primaries, we also design and deliver a number of courses and events throughout the year specifically for staff within our schools, including an annual conference and INSETs.
More recently, we have started to offer training places through School Direct, working in partnership with the Wokingham Secondary Federation. Many trainees finish their training and subsequentially gain a teaching place within an FTP School.
The FTP work in partnership with Wokingham Borough Council.
