About Us

The Future Thinking Partnership (FTP) is a collaboration of 16 different Primary schools from across the borough of Wokingham. Formed in 2010, the partnership is focused on contributing to the raising of local standards of Teaching and Learning across our schools and beyond in order to raise students’ attainment and achievement.

Train to Teach with School Direct

From 2020, the FTP are working in partnership with the Wokingham Secondary Federation, University of Reading and Wellington College to offer Primary School Direct places.

For more information about the Primary School Direct Programme, please watch the Primary School Direct with the University of Reading (right). If you have any questions or would like an introductory discussion about School Direct within the FTP, please contact the FTP Manager Alison Hale who will be happy to talk through your options with you.

Primary NQT Training

The FTP has since 2017 run a highly successful NQT training programme for Primary NQTs across Wokingham, called the Bright Futures programme. Our Bright Futures programme, is predominately delivered by highly experienced serving Headteachers and senior leaders, and has grown in numbers year on year.

FTP Conferences and CPD Events

Over the past 10 years, the FTP have worked together to deliver bespoke CPD support and training for its schools.  Having identified the needs of its staff, FTP members work to design and deliver high quality CPD events which will either be delivered in-house by experienced senior leaders or externally by expert partners.
